You Can't Spell "missile" Without "miss"

The Bush administration is utterly out of touch with reality and missing the point, focusing on absurd programs like National Missile Defence, when the biggest threat to the survival of human beings (and all other life forms) on this planet right now is not nuclear war, but the devastatingly misguided and inadequate environmental policies that threaten to destroy Earth's very ecosystem - an ecosystem that we all share and that defines our collective fate.

The Bush focus on national security has, indeed, nothing whatsoever to do with concern for the wellbeing of citizens of the United States of America, but rather has to do with favors owed to military friends and associates of the Bush administration. Not only are these military men deluded in estimating their own value to mankind, not only are they proud, patriotic, and arrogant, not only do they wish to build up their armies as if they were no more than toy soldiers in some children's game, but they also profit financially through their associations with massive defense contractors who undoubtedly grant favors - however indirect - in exchange for large military contracts.

The time for the demilitarization of Earth is well overdue. The men who seek to resolve disputes through murder and destruction have outlived their welcome upon this planet. Just as it would be utterly absurd in the coroporate world for corporations to maintain their own private armies and for one corporation to conduct a military campaign against another corporation, so it is absurd for one nation to conduct a military campaign against another nation. The resolution of international disputes through military action must no longer be permitted or tolerated by governments of the world.

It will take great conviction, bravery, and resolve to successfully annihilate the pernicious cancer of militarism within humankind.
