If George Bush Becomes President

--- 2000-12-10 ---

If George Bush ("W" ommitted to emphasize the extreme absurdity of this nepotism) does, indeed, become the next president of the United States of America, it will certainly not reflect the political direction that the people of this nation wish to move in.

Not only is George Bush junior behind in the popular vote, but there is also a not insignificant percentage of the electorate that voted for Ralph Nader - perhaps even a deciding percentage in some states. Almost all of these voters would have voted for Gore rather than Bush, had they realized just how close the election would be and that an oil-stained environmental agnostic may actually become president.

I think it is quite plain to see that the nation is leaning significantly more to the left than the political agenda of a Bush administration. Having George Bush as the next US president seems like a backward step for a nation that clearly wishes to be more progressive, as evidenced by the growing strength of the Green Party.

Given the level of stupidity of the "shrub", as evidenced by the many thoroughly idiotic campaign quotes on record (that are at the same time both sad and funny), I do not believe that any of the current constitutional turmoil could have any impact - whatsoever - on his ability to govern successfully. I think he would be incompetent to govern, regardless.
