Government Spending on Biotech

--- 2001-10-25 ---

Those in political power who are influenced by their corporate biotech connections will not be satisfied with simply using their political clout to boost the biotech sector in general, but ultimately are interested in boosting public interest in the biotech sector in such a way that taxpayers will be willing to contribute to government spending in support of the biotech industry. Once the specifics of financial channeling are taken out of the hands of the public, those politicians with connections to biotech coporations (for example, Donald Rumsfeld who is connected to Gilead Sciences) - can go to work securing long-term government spending contracts with their choice of biotech companies.
