Ever since arriving in America, I've had to hear conservatives belly-aching about the "LIBERAL MEDIA". So, I've been keeping my eyes open for this mythical "liberal media". But, for all my most attentive observation, I have not seen a shred of evidence to corroborate this claim of the existence of a so-called "liberal media". So, what the hell are they on about!?!?! What are these idiots smoking!?!?
In all the time I have lived in this country, I have seen nothing but conservative media, corporate shillery, and downright blatant monopolism of the media by the wealthy elite class. Do we really have a popular democracy that serves the interests of the majority, or merely a well disguised caste system? I am disappointed. Deeply disappointed in a nation that held out such great promise to me, but has not lived up to its democratic hype and has instead taken a wrong turn down the road towards a fascist future - a future in which the state collaborates with big business in exploiting the people.
I watched in complete horror as a whole nation was hypnotized into war in Iraq by a comatose media that allowed itself to be "embedded", utterly impotent and incapable of providing any substantial critical analysis and questioning of the government line, and willing to accept any and all poison with which the government spoon-fed it. Should our media really be "embed" with anybody? Our media seems to me by far to be the most conservative of all the developed western democracies.
Let's face it: there is no "liberal media" !!!
