Collapsers of Time

--- 2001-08-04 ---

A proposition:

That a web is forming that will ultimately connect all times to one another. That the detail of the accounts that we make of the present (to be revisited by those in the future) will continue to increase. And that the realism with which we are able to recount and re-experience past experiences will continue to increase. That, ultimately, it is the fate of the time continuum to collapse and fold in on itself, so that there is eventually a singularity of time. That, while some may believe that the Universe will reach its end as a result of its matter collapsing in to form a singularity, it will rather reach its end as a result of time collapsing in. That we are, today, building the machines to enable time travel, and we are blissfully unaware of it.
